xpscncfg.exe

This is version 2.4 release of scenery file editor/analyzer for x-plane.

Tested with XP 8.06 with scenery including 6.00 and 7.15 and XPSRTM

WIN 98 SE users: this analyzer/editor has been tested on WIN XP only.

[See upload notes file for latest additions ]

The viewer now includes AIRPORTS and will display/unload them by LAT-LON area, not by scenery directory alone. Unload an area, and those airports unload.

Has analysis across scenery directories. Load/unload files, areas, sceneries with errors cleared accordingly.

USE: most useful functions are in pop-up menus for Right-Mouse button on the 4 lists: scenery directories, LAT-LON directories, LAT-LON files.
DBL-click any list item to see more info

WARNING: a full file-analysis on the complete Global scenery will require a long coffee break.

A coming 3.x version will offer to partition the default scenery directory first and only suggest analysis if problems occur in that partitioning. An xml file will report and serve as an UNDO template.

Also, the coming 3.x versions will do partitioning of a global apt.dat as discrete apt files across the directories where the relevant scenery is kept.

The tool is of particular use to users migrating Global 7 scenery to x-plane 8.x

Startup:

When prompted for a file directory, navigate to the ANY directory of your x-plane scenery, default or custom.

Use FILE | Add or FILE | Set to ge the view of your layout you want.
Use the scenery pop-up menu to add and remove directories as needed and to perform the 2 analyses now provided. Both are quite robust and tolerate users who are changing files under Windows while running the tool.

Complete analysis across directory structures is next in 1.3, insomnia permitting ...

A tree-view is in the works.
